As criaturas e as quatro estações dos prados

As criaturas e as quatro estações dos prados

Stretching from the foot of Mt. Sanbe are grasslands called Higashinohara, Nishinohara, and Kitanohara. Here can be found plants and animals peculiar to grasslands. It is a habitat for horned dung beetles that flock to dung from grazing cattle, the fritillary family that consumes nectar from flowers, and the harvest mouse that builds a nest with Japanese silvergrass leaves. The nodding anemone and Japanese azalea which produce flowers in the spring were left on Mt. Sanbe as a result of being left over by cows. Some of these plants and animals have become endangered species.
